About Me

Sheryl Fox, MS, RD, CDCES

My Master’s thesis at Tufts University was titled “Does Home Cooking Lead to Weight Loss?” (hint: yes). With a background in research biochemistry, I provide a deep understanding of metabolism to patients, with the philosophy that knowledge is power. I bring health coaching skills to my practice which employs both respect and compassion for patients, many of whom have had negative encounters previously with other health care workers regarding their metabolic health and weight issues.

At this point in my career, I have counseled over 700 people seeking guidance to improve their health. I have specifically focused on weight management and diabetes treatment but my desire is to help everyone achieve their best quality of life.

I transitioned from bench biochemistry to nutrition science after a break to raise my children. In that time, I took pride in preparing home-cooked meals using nutritious ingredients grown in our own backyard, with their help, whenever possible. I dabbled with endurance sports and had to learn how to dial in my own nutrition to support long training sessions and racing. I made a lot of mistakes along the way but feel that I have found what works best for me. But I understand that what works for me may not be the best answer for you. However, I do believe that certain fundamental facts are true for us all and achieving optimal health is both possible and a worthy goal.

In my spare time, I still enjoy many varied sports. I love being outside and my move to Florida has optimized my circadian health. I am a grandmother but love not acting my age. Social connections are very important to me and my favorite thing to do after a cold plunge is to snuggle up with a good book on science.

Branching out on my own is both scary and exciting. I know the Lord has called me to do this and feel reassured by Deuteronomy 31:8 “It is the Lord who goes before you.  He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed” I hope that you are ready to jump in with me, together, we can do anything!
